Students
Student Residence Permit
- You have the right to work up to 964 hours per year (if you exceed this number of hours: your employer needs to apply for a temporary work permit, an “autorisation provisoire de travail”, APT) ;
- A declaration prior to employment must be sent by email by the employer to the Préfecture (at least 48 hours before the beginning of the activity);
Students from Algeria
- You have the right to work up to 822.50 hours per year;
- Applying for a Temporary Work Permit (APT) is mandatory, regardless of the number of hours worked.
Please note that the application for a Temporary Work Permit (APT) must be done online through the ANEF platform by the employer.
Children over 16 to 18 years old
Children of a student residence permit holder who is of legal working age must apply for a "Vie privée et familiale" residence permit to engage in professional activities.
Researchers
Visa or Talent Passport—Researcher Residence Permit
The visa and Talent Passport—Researcher residence permit allow their holders to work full-time. However, please note that this authorization is only valid for the specific activity defined in the convention d’accueil (hosting agreement). The hosting agreement serves as a work authorisation: the employer does not need to apply for a Temporary Work Permit (APT).
Visa or Residence Permit Talent Passport—Family
The visa and Talent Passport—Family residence permit allow their holders to work full-time, for any type of activity, for the duration of the validity of the spouse's residence permit.
Children over 16 to 18 years old
Children of a Talent Passport—Researcher holder who is of legal working age must apply for a Talent Passport—Family in order to engage in professional activities.
