More user-friendly and inclusive, the new site aims to offer all its visitors an optimized browsing experience. Check back in a few days to discover it, still at the same address: unistra.fr
The University of Strasbourg website receives around 3 million visits each year. It serves as both a large database about the institution and a fantastic showcase for publicizing, explaining, highlighting, and promoting its missions and activities.
In a few days, the site will be transformed into a version redesigned for new web uses: rewritten in clear language, with condensed text content, better organized to allow easier access to the right information, and equipped with a powerful search engine. It is also designed for convenient mobile viewing.
The efforts involved in this redesign have also focused on two areas of optimization:
- simplicity, in order to reduce its carbon footprint, which explains the significant reduction in the number of photos and videos on the site;
- accessibility, in order to improve access to the site for people with disabilities, hence the dark mode, the option to use a font adapted for dyslexia, and the drastic reduction in PDF documents (which are not very accessible to people with disabilities).
As part of the university's overall commitment to continuous improvement, this new website will of course be evolving. Starting in a few months with the launch of a fully translated English version.
