On the 17th of June, we held a cross border workshop in collaboration with the Eucor network, EURES-T Upper Rhine, the Karlsruhe House of Young Scientists (KHYS) and the University of Basel.
In the morning, participants attended presentations on opportunities both in and outside Academia , and also had the opportunity to hear a career story from Prof. Anja Metelmann, the first holder of a cross-border professorship within the EUCOR network awarded jointly by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and the University of Strasbourg.
After lunch, participants were able to sign up for round table discussions with 4 of our speakers from the University of Basel, the Karlsruhe House of Young Scientists and EURES T-Upper Rhine and ask them specific questions regarding career opportunities and professional environments in the public and private sectors in Germany and Switzerland.
Nearly 30 researchers attended the event, and the round tables were a success, providing them with personalised information and the opportunity to ask their own questions. Furthermore, a few researchers were able to enjoy a moment of networking over drinks and snacks at the end of the day.
