Summer School: “European Identity: Past, Present, Future”

Why participate in the summer school “The European Identity: Past, Present, Future?”

The summer school organized by the International Relations Department of the University of Strasbourg attracts students from all over the world. The lectures offered give rise to lively debates that encourage the sharing of ideas and provide opportunities to open up to different perspectives.

By participating in this program, you will develop your academic knowledge, be immersed in an international environment that allows you to appreciate a diversity of cultures, expand your network, and above all, gain unique and enriching personal experiences.

Register for the second edition of our summer school!

For two weeks, from June 16 to 27, 2025, you will be able to:

  • Attend high-quality interdisciplinary courses exploring various aspects of Europe: culture, politics, law, history, and society, taught by renowned professors and researchers with international experience.
  • Deepen your understanding of European integration, its governance, and global challenges.

The academic courses will be accompanied by meetings and discussions with representatives of European institutions, as well as guided tours to discover the unique cultural heritage of the Strasbourg region, located in the heart of Europe.

A few words about Strasbourg and its region.

Strasbourg, the “European capital,” is home to many key European institutions, including the European Parliament, the Council of Europe, and the European Court of Human Rights. During the summer school, you will visit these institutions, talk with experts, and gain direct insight into how European institutions work.

In addition, Strasbourg, a dynamic and culturally rich city, offers a blend of French and German influences due to its history, which is evident in the city's architecture, traditional museums, and local cuisine! Finally, Strasbourg's central location allows for easy getaways to other European cities, such as Paris, Brussels, Berlin, or Geneva.
