Short-term Programs at Unistra
Since 2019, the International Relations Office (IRO) at the University of Strasbourg has been offering customized short-term programs to:
- Encourage a large number of students and staff to discover our university over a limited period of time,
- Strengthen academic partnerships.
These programs draw on the wide range of courses taught at the university to offer a rich and unique perspective that meets the different needs and expectations of our international students and partners. Discover what we offer:
Why should you participate in this Summer School?
The European Summer School at the University of Strasbourg attracts students from all over the world and the lectures involve dynamic debates, therefore offering a platform to share ideas and engage with different perspectives.
By attending this program, you will build up academic knowledge, be immersed in an international environment allowing you to appreciate a diversity of cultures, expand your network, and above all, gain unique enriching personal experiences.
Register for the 2026 edition of our Summer School!
For two weeks, from June 15 to 26, 2026, you will:
- Attend high-quality interdisciplinary courses exploring various aspects of Europe: Culture, politics, law, and history taught by renowned professors and researchers with international experience.
- Deepen your understanding of European integration, its governance, and global challenges.
The academic courses will be accompanied by meetings and discussions with representatives of European institutions, as well as guided tours to discover the unique heritage of Strasbourg and its region, located at the heart of Europe.
A little bit more about Strasbourg and its surroundings.
Strasbourg is considered a 'Capital of Europe' because it hosts key European institutions, including the European Parliament, the Council of Europe, and the European Court of Human Rights. During the Summer School, you will gain firsthand insight into the workings of European Institutions and engage with experts.
Furthermore, Strasbourg is a vibrant, culturally rich city, offering a mix of French and German influences due to its history, which is noticeable through the city's architecture, traditional museums and local cuisine. And, last but not least, its central location allows you to take a train and easily travel to other European cities, like Paris, Brussels, Berlin, or Geneva.

Pace: Full-time, in-person with a virtual information session (late March/early April 2026)
Location: University of Strasbourg central campus (Esplanade)
Registration fee: €1,850 (payable in February 2026)
Services included:
- Academic courses taught by expert professors from Unistra and international universities
- Accommodation in a university residence from June 12 to 29, 2026. Any additional nights must be booked in advance and paid for at the university residence, subject to availability
- Transportation: transportation tickets for travel within Strasbourg and to cultural sites outside the city (from June 14 to 28, 2026)
- Cultural visits (Strasbourg and its surroundings)
- Breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a university restaurant from June 15 to 26, 2026 (Monday to Friday only)
- Welcome and farewell lunch
Services not included:
- Travel expenses to and from Strasbourg
- Medical/travel insurance in France. You are required to have medical and civil liability insurance covering the full duration of your stay in France
- Breakfast, lunch, and dinner during the weekend

The intensive international and intercultural internship will enable you to develop essential knowledge and skills, covering a variety of topics such as:
- International and intercultural cooperation at Unistra;
- Daily life abroad;
- The world of work;
- Intercultural communication;
