Inter-university agreements
The University of Strasbourg offers international students the opportunity to study within the framework of the :
- A cooperation agreement with partner institutions outside Europe
- The program of the Bureau collaboration interuniversitaire (BCI) - Canada
- The 3 partner networks of the Utrecht Network AEN (Australian European Network), MAUI (Mid-America Universities International), REAR-RJ (International Relations Network of Higher Education Institutions of Rio de Janeiro)
- The eMobi@DG2 Virtual Mobility Network

Application process
1] Verify:
- The existence of a student exchange agreement with the University of Strasbourg
- Eligibility requirements with the International Relations Office of your university.
2] Find out about
- the study programs, and
- If necessary, contact the international relations correspondents at the University of Strasbourg.
3] If you are selected, your university will send you instructions and a link to the application form so that you can prepare your file. You must submit the following documents in a single PDF file
- Application form;
- French language test results;
- Transcripts (French or English);
- Letter of motivation;
- Student contract;
- Legible photocopy of passport.
4] Send your complete application to your home university, which will sign it and upload it to a dedicated portal. Please note the application deadlines.
5] If your application is accepted, you will receive an acceptance letter:
- June 2025 for mobility in the 1st semester or full year 2025/2026.
- in November 2025 for mobility in the 2nd semester 2025/2026.
6]Start the visa process with the French embassy in your home country.
7] Prepare for your arrival. You can start by consulting the "Before my arrival" pages.

Level B2 (independent user) is strongly recommended. However, some faculties may have specific requirements.
To find out more, contact the international relations correspondent of the Université de Strasbourg department where you plan to study.
Here are a few examples of language level requirements to apply:
- Faculty of French Literature and Language at Licence level: B2 required;
- Faculty of French Literature and Language at Master's level: C1 compulsory;
- Faculty of Fine Arts: B2 (Licence), C1 (Master);
- Faculty of Philosophy: B2 mandatory.
